The 4 Armies journey

From the swamp to the other side of the wall: the four armies, the Protocol Library, and what happens next.

The Fourth Army: The Muckers

From the top of a long brick wall the view flies down over a brickworks and through cloud into a dead, foggy swamp. A face sinks in the mud. People coated in mud stand among the dead trees, talking at each other. The fog thins onto the wall, where workers dig mud into baskets and barrows.
  • I wish you were more like your brother
  • you were always a deadbeat

The Sinking · Trauma Gravity

The Fourth Army · The Muckers

This is where most journeys begin

Every brick in that wall was made from this muck

The Fourth Army · The Muckers

Not sure where you are?

The Third Army: The Gatherers

Below the wall, seen over the handles of a wheelbarrow, mud is collected and shaped into bricks. A woman is pulled from the mud. People stand half buried in mounds. At a market stall a woman holds out a coil of rope, and climbers start up the wall on ropes.
  • Welcome, can you lend a hand?
  • I told you this would happen.
  • Weren't you raised better than this?
  • It's their fault.
  • I never asked them to do it.
  • Find some support.

The Third Army · The Gatherers

Something has shifted. You've started to question

The Third Army · The Gatherers

Collecting is over. Now you climb

The Second Army: The Builders & Catchers

Climbers haul themselves up the face of the wall on ropes, seen through the climber’s own hands. The climber looks back down past their feet at the ground far below, a hand reaches down from the top, and the view opens on a green valley below mountains.
  • Don't look down yet.
  • Give me your hand.

The Climber

The Second Army · The Builders & Catchers

There's no way around the wall. Only up, and no one climbs alone

The Five Clearings

Mind · Mouth · Ears · Heart · Eyes

A climber looks back for the one below

Look how far you've come

The Second Army · The Builders & Catchers

The top is in reach

The First Army: The Divine

A man stands on top of the wall above the clouds, looks down at his bare feet on the edge, and steps off. Past planets and stars he lands in a net held by smiling people in a starlit meadow, where others work at a bench of tools, and he walks on along a path through the grass.
  • Welcome. We've got you.
  • The illusion was yours. Live your truth.

The tools for every army are made here

The First Army · The Divine

The past is fuel now, not a prison

This might require a leap of faith in yourself

The First Army · The Divine

This isn't an arrival. It's a practice

The Protocol Library

In a starlit field of grass a white fox fans out seven tails, looks around, then wraps its tails around itself into a cocoon.

The Seven Tails Protocol

The Protocol Library · The Seven Tails Protocol

One voice is a data point. Seven is a pattern

Note what you are told without absorbing it and without dismissing it, and wait.

The Cocoon Protocol

Is this my tail? Did I choose it? Do I want to keep it?

The Protocol Library · The Cocoon Protocol

A decision, not a reaction.

Step back from the version of yourself under examination and ask three questions.

Chapter 06: You choose what happens next

An old sketchbook drawn in sepia ink: a path over a hill, a pair of round spectacles, two people sitting on a hill, climbers roped to a wall, people at a workbench, and a closing map of the four armies’ landscape.

The Perspective Coaching Program

Twelve sessions. One method

A structured program built on the 4 Armies Method and the Protocol Library. Each session installs one named tool and leaves you with specific steps to practise before the next. The Muck Map measures where you start, and where you finish.

Individual · 12 sessions · In person in Phoenix, or anywhere by video

The Couples Perspective Coaching Program

Not lacking love. Lacking a shared language

A twelve-week program for two partners, built on the 4 Armies Method. It starts with the seven-word question: “Are you Sharing, or are we Discussing?” From there, you build one set of named tools you both use. The Muck Map measures you both at intake, mid-program and close.

Two partners · 12 weeks · In person in Phoenix, or anywhere by video

The 4 Armies

The 4 Armies Method maps the journey of personal transformation across four armies, and gives each one a set of named protocols for moving on.

The Muckers

The Fourth Army

Where every journey begins. Operating from inherited constructs: the rules about love, conflict, and what you deserve that were handed over before you could question them. It feels like personality. It is programming.

About The Muckers

The Gatherers

The Third Army

Questioning. Collecting. Not yet building. Awareness is present and new ways of seeing are being gathered. The Gatherer has looked up and seen the bridge.

About The Gatherers

The Builders & Catchers

The Second Army

Laying new planks on purpose, making a different choice in the moment the old pattern would have run. The Catcher turns back to reach for the person still in the Muck.

About The Builders & Catchers

The Divine

The First Army

Present and purposeful. The past inspires, influences, and informs, but does not define. Not an arrival: a practice returned to daily.

About The Divine

Ten named tools. Installed across twelve sessions. Yours permanently.

The Protocol Library is the set of behavioral agreements the program installs one at a time, each named so you can identify it, recall it, and use it by name long after the sessions end. Ten named protocols to start. Then you write your own.

The Muck Map

Not sure where you are in the journey?

The Muck Map gives you a score across five dimensions: where you are, whether you are moving, how your pattern is landing on the people around you, whether what you are building is named and chosen, and whether you know where your patterns come from.

It is administered at intake, mid-program, and close. The difference between your intake score and your close score is the documented impact of the work.

Which of the four armies is running your day right now? The assessment is where the work begins; a discovery call is where it gets personal.
