The Muck Map
Twenty questions that produce one score from 20 to 100 across five subscales: where you are in the 4 Armies journey, whether you are moving, how your pattern lands on the people closest to you, how clearly you can name what you are building, and how well you catch your own patterns.
The score is not a judgment. It is coordinates. The work is in what you do with them.
Five subscales, one composite
Each subscale is four questions, scored from 4 to 20. The composite is the five added together. Read the subscales first: they tell you more than the composite alone, because the same composite can come from very different patterns.
The five subscales: Army Position, Movement, Relational Health, Purpose Clarity, and Pattern Awareness.
The four bands
The composite places you in one of the four armies. Scores near a boundary matter most: they show active transition, which is where the most meaningful work usually happens.
- 20 to 39, Fourth Army: The Muckers. The pattern is inherited and largely unexamined. The first step is awareness, and taking the Muck Map is that step.
- 40 to 59, Third Army: The Gatherers. The pattern has been identified and is being questioned. Awareness is present; consistent action is not yet. Often the most important and uncomfortable part of the climb.
- 60 to 79, Second Army: The Builders & Catchers. New behaviors are being laid on purpose and the pattern is caught in real time. Occasional slides are normal and expected.
- 80 to 100, First Army: The Divine. The past informs but does not define. Present-moment living, Forever Memories being built. This range needs maintenance, not arrival.

Taking the Muck Map
Free, about ten minutes, and your result as soon as you finish.
Create an account, answer the twenty questions as you actually are rather than as you wish you were, and your scores appear the moment you submit. Your answers are saved as you go, so you can stop and come back. Take it again whenever you like: every result is kept, and a move of 8 points or more between two takes is meaningful.
RK Springfield reads every result and, to coach, the answers behind it, and each time RK opens someone's answers it is recorded; if you joined a trainer's group, your trainer sees your scores, never your answers. The answers are used, under a code rather than your name, for research into how people change. It is also part of every coaching program, taken at intake, mid-program and close.
Coaching and education, not therapy or medical treatment. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US).
